During the first week of July 2015, 16 of the 17 scouts in Troop 586 traveled to Camp Rodney located near Northeast Maryland. It was an exciting and fun trip for the scouts and scoutmasters.  The weather was excellent except one severe thunderstorm.  Nearly 50 merit badges were earned by the scouts and several of the scouts advanced in rank.  Camp Rodney was a fantastic place, It is nationally recognized for its Brownsea program (one that helps young scouts get started in Boy Scouts and earn advancement towards first class) and for its aquatics programs.  Our philosophy in 586 is to help our scouts explore the Worl as best we can which includes traveling to different camping destinations yearly.
